I have a chipped tooth in the front of my denture. They’re only 4 years old. Do I have to get a new one?
Your dentist may be able to repair the broken tooth without replacing the whole denture. It’s possible the assistance of a dental laboratory will be required and you won’t have your dentures for a time. After 4 years, though, this old denture probably doesn’t fit as well as it should. You may need a new denture anyway. In that case, you can keep the old denture as a spare. For this and many other reasons, when we do make dentures, for a patient, I always recommend they get two, a twin set for just such emergencies. If we fabricate the twin denture at this time the fee is usually 50 percent for the second yet.
